Multiple visa to Italy

If you have already visited a country on the Apennine Peninsula or any of the countries of the Schengen Community on a one-time tourist trip, then you have every right to apply for multiple admission to the country. The easiest way is to get a multiple visa to Italy in 2021 for a six-month or annual period. The length of stay in the country depends on the period for which the permit was issued (for 1 year, 2 years or 5 years), and the number of border crossings is not limited by anything except the calendar and your needs.

Most often, Russians need a multivisa C (tourist), which is issued without any problems if there is a good reason for frequent travel. It is important that with a multiple visa you can not limit your travel to Italy and visit other Schengen countries. Of course, in this case it is necessary to comply with the conditions and periods of stay specified in the permit document and in the legislation.

Multiple visa to Italy for 3 years

Registration deadlines

The processing time for an application for a visa to Italy is 4 working days. This period may increase during the height of the tourist season or due to the time it takes to send documents between the visa center and the consulate.

You can submit documents at least 15 days before the trip, but not earlier than 6 months. The optimal deadline for submitting documents is 3-4 weeks.

For how long is it issued? The Italian Consulate issues visas in a clean passport, subject to a complete package of documents, but usually for the dates of the trip, rarely for six months. From the second or third trip it is possible to obtain Schengen for six months, a year or two. If you want to get a long-term visa, check the validity period of your passport. The validity period of the visa cannot be longer than the validity of the foreign passport. If your passport is about to expire, you can get a second one and put the visa in your new passport.

Step-by-step instructions for obtaining a visa to Italy through the consulate

Required documents for a visa to Italy in 2020: checklist

What do you need to collect before applying for a visa? The answer depends on the purpose of the trip. However, there is a list of papers that are always needed.

  1. Questionnaire . You will have to fill it out in English/Italian, you need to write legibly, put signatures in the indicated places, avoid mistakes and blots, otherwise you will have to rewrite everything again, indicate true information.
  2. International passport. The key condition is the original document with 2 blank pages (minimum). The passport must remain valid for longer than 90 days from the date of entry into the Schengen area. Additionally, a copy of the main spread with a photograph and personal information is required.
  3. Russian Federation passport. A valid domestic passport of the applicant is required to enter into an agreement.
  4. Photo . 2 photographs are required, one of which is pasted into the application form, which meet the following criteria:
  • Size – 35*44 mm.
  • White/close to white background, matte paper.
  • 80% of the photo is taken up by the face.
  • Cuts and corners are not allowed.
  • It is not allowed to be photographed wearing hats (only for religious reasons), or glasses that cause glare and cover the eyes.
  • It is forbidden to smile, tilt your head, or wink. The facial expression is neutral.
  1. Visas for the past 2 years. Can be provided in the form of a previous passport / copies.
  2. Trip tickets. Air tickets or travel documents to Italy using other transport. A prerequisite is that the dates of return to the Russian Federation must be indicated. If you are traveling by car, you need a driver's license + copy, registration certificate + copy, international insurance + copy.
  3. Housing reservation. This could be a hotel, a hotel, an apartment, an apartment, and so on. Reservation dates must overlap the travel date.
  4. Medical insurance. It should be valid throughout the Schengen area, the amount of coverage is from € 30 thousand.
  5. Agreements for the processing of personal data. Filled out according to a specific sample.
  6. Payment of the consular fee. Confirmation is provided in the form of a receipt, payment is made at the visa center.
  7. Financial guarantees in the form of:
  • bank account statements;
  • copies of the bank card + statements from the card account, where the balance is indicated;
  • passbooks or traveler's checks (original and copy required);
  • letters from the sponsor (husband/children/other relatives).

Recommendation . Provide yourself with a financial cushion. Unemployed citizens - housewives, pensioners, students and freelancers - have the right to travel to foreign countries. The main thing is to convince the receiving party that the required amount of finance is available. Usually it is 50 euros/day per person. To prove that such funds are available, you can bring a receipt from an ATM. But remember, it only lasts 3 days.

Another option to solve the problem is to seek the help of a sponsor or a close relative. The sponsor writes a free-form letter in which he guarantees to pay your expenses. To confirm solvency, a certificate from work or an account statement must be presented. To establish relationship - birth certificate, etc.

  1. Guarantee of social status. List of possible documents:
  • for employees of any organizations - a certificate issued at the place of work;
  • for individual entrepreneurs and company owners - a copy of the Taxpayer Identification Number + a certificate that the company is registered;
  • for students of schools/educational institutions – a document confirming the place of study, signed by the director/dean + stamp;
  • for persons of retirement age - original + copy of pension certificate.

Recommendation! Attach documents from previous trips. If you have already been to Italy, attach copies of receipts: for hotel stays, car rentals, purchases in stores, tickets. The more such confirmations of your activity, the higher the degree of trust in you.

Recommendation. Be as honest as possible. For example, you belong to the officially unemployed category of citizens, but submit fabricated salary certificates. Don’t be surprised if they refuse you, providing evidence that you are not on the staff of the company you indicated, or that your social networks indicate that you work as a freelancer.

Remember that the consulate issues visas to unemployed people. The main thing is that the person submitting the application has the required amount of funds in his account. To confirm your intentions to stay in your homeland, attach real estate documents and children’s birth certificates.

If the visa is for a minor child, collect documents for a Schengen visa to Italy:

  1. Form signed by parents.
  2. International passport (if available), photographs (requirements - see above).
  3. A copy of the parent’s international passport: basic page + page where information about the child is entered. Copies of visas from the foreign passports of the parents or accompanying person.
  4. birth certificate + copy, notarized.
  5. Power of attorney from parents. To travel with an accompanying person, one of the parents or without parents, the power of attorney must be certified by a notary.
  6. A copy of the internal passport of the parent who provides consent to travel.
  7. Additionally you may need:
  • A document confirming the deprivation of parental rights of the father or mother;
  • a police certificate confirming the absence of a parent/parents (missing person, death);
  • permission to leave from the guardianship council;
  • marriage certificate when parents have different last names.

    Procedure for submitting and issuing documents

    Biometrics:

    From September 14, 2015, all applicants wishing to apply for a Schengen visa must submit biometric data - undergo a mandatory fingerprint scanning procedure and electronic photography. In this regard, each applicant over 12 years of age must submit documents in person. [Fingerprints for Schengen - rules and procedure]

    Submission of documents to the Visa Center is possible only by appointment. Registration is made on the website of the Visa Center. Documents will not be accepted from applicants who come without an appointment.

    When making an appointment to submit documents, you must indicate all applicants, including children. When submitting documents jointly (as a group), you need to make a common entry for all applicants (the consular fee, in this case, is paid according to the rules for joint submission - with a single receipt for the entire group).

    We would like to draw your attention to the fact that when you register online to submit documents, you actually fill out a visa application form. There is no need to fill out a separate paper form. After registration, you will have the opportunity to download a completed application form, which will need to be submitted along with other documents.

    Submission of documents:

    • in person (personal presence is not required for children under 12 years old);
    • through a travel agency accredited by the Consulate General of Italy in Moscow, provided that you have already taken biometrics;
    • your closest relative based on a document confirming your relationship (marriage certificate or birth certificate), provided that you have already taken biometrics;
    • from the applicant’s representative upon presentation of a notarized power of attorney and confirmation of the submission of fingerprints, but only if the applicant lives outside of Moscow and Moscow Region;
    • for a business visa - from an employee of your company by providing a power of attorney on the company’s letterhead (original + copy), as well as a copy of the proxy’s passport (main page + registration page), provided that you have already taken biometrics.

    Documents receiving:

    • personally;
    • the closest relative on the basis of a document confirming relationship (marriage certificate or birth certificate);
    • by a travel agency if the submission was carried out by the agency;
    • any third party upon presentation of a notarized power of attorney;
    • for a business visa - by an employee of your company with a power of attorney on the company’s letterhead;
    • paid delivery (issued at the Visa Application Center when submitting documents; the cost depends on the delivery address).

    You can find out the cost, current list and detailed description of additional services on the official website of the Italy Visa Application Center in the “Additional Services” section.

    Italian transit

    In addition to the general standard package, in this case you will need to justify the need for Italian transit and the availability of a visa from the country where the applicant is going (if a visa regime is established there).

    If you plan to visit Italy by car, you need to provide the following list of documents to the visa center:

    • car registration document with a copy;
    • international insurance (green card) with a copy;
    • driving license with a copy;
    • vehicle rental contract (if necessary);

    • If a traveler plans to travel through several countries of the Schengen territory, then a plan for the intended trip is also provided to the visa center.

    How to apply for a visa in Moscow

    It remains important that the submitted list of documents cannot be supplemented. If you are determined to obtain an Italian visa document, then start preparing no later than 4 months before departure. If there are reasons for an urgent flight, these must also be indicated. A copy of your boarding pass or hotel reservation is attached to the package of documents submitted to the Italian visa center in Moscow. The forms should be filled out in accordance with the examples.

    To obtain a visa you will need:

    • passport and international passport;
    • photograph 3 x 4 centimeters;
    • insurance policy;
    • certificate with the stamp of the employer, educational institution;
    • bank statement or sponsorship letter;
    • copy of the ticket.

    In some cases, the paperwork for the visa center varies. So, tourists need to provide round-trip tickets and confirmation of the paid hotel room. Intermediaries and travel agencies receive information only at the visa center.

    If documents are submitted independently or with the help of a travel agency, embassy employees have the right to ask for additional documents in the event of any claims against the applicant. In such circumstances, the papers are delayed for consideration for another 30 days.

    It will be impossible to provide the necessary documents after submitting the application. Keep this in mind and submit the required papers on time. Late release of documentation can ruin your trip.

    If the applicant cannot submit documents personally, close relatives can do this for him. By presenting a passport, birth or marriage certificate, a relative has the right to request a pass to another country without the presence of the initiator of the trip.
