Is a visa required for Colombia for Russians?

Citizens of the Russian Federation do not require a visa to Colombia for tourism purposes. If your stay in the country involves more than ninety days, a visa must be issued. It is not difficult to answer the question of where Colombia is located.

Bogota, Colombia

Bird's eye view of Bogota

Colombia is the only South American country that borders the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean. Colombia owes its name to the great Columbus. Local residents preferred to call the country that way, despite the fact that the navigator had never been to these places. Citizens of Russia do not need a visa to Colombia if they are planning a tourist or private trip not exceeding ninety days.

general information

Colombia is marked on the world map as part of South America. The southern part of this sunny and friendly country is crossed by the equator, which allows tourists to bask on the luxurious beaches all year round. Colombia attracts people not only with the opportunity to enjoy a sunny holiday. Despite the fact that this country cannot be called rich, despite the crime situation in a number of areas in large cities, many are interested in the question of whether a visa to Colombia is needed for a longer stay in this country.

There are many people who want to leave for this country. As a rule, these are small and medium-sized entrepreneurs.

Information for Russians

If the romance and exoticism of this friendly and sunny country does not want to let Russians go home, then there can only be one way - to the Colombian Embassy in Moscow. Having received a long-term visa, you can go to live in Colombia for 6 months.

The package of documents that a diplomatic institution requests to provide is no different. Russians are only required to provide a foreign passport with at least three blank pages.

Another subtlety is that high-quality photocopies must be made of the current pages of the internal passport. They need to be translated into English.

It is also important to remember that it is best to buy return tickets at home, since in Colombia the price of tickets is subject to a 15 percent tax.
