Long Term Skill Shortage List (LTSSL)
This is a list of professions that are in demand in the long term. The list is updated every 6 months, but it does not undergo major changes. Essentially, this is a list of professions that are in constant shortage in New Zealand. It is LTSSL that is used in the instructions when applying for residency in the Skilled Migrant Category - the main category that allows a qualified, in-demand specialist to obtain permanent residence in New Zealand. It is this list of professions that you should focus on.

List of in-demand professions in New Zealand
- list of professions in demand in the long term
also known as the Long-Term Skill Shortage List (LTSSL), is a list of skilled occupations that are in persistent shortage across New Zealand. Updated every 6 months. Widely used in instructions for obtaining a residence permit through work, as well as in the Skilled Migrant Category .
- list of professions in demand in the short term
aka Immediate Skill Shortage List (ISSL) or a list of occupations with acute shortages in selected regions of New Zealand. Updated every 6 months. In the case of a temporary work visa under this category, the employer does not need to provide evidence of attempts to recruit New Zealanders for this position, since it is already obvious to the New Zealand Immigration Service that employers cannot find enough people with these skills and qualifications in New Zealand itself. A person wishing to obtain a temporary work visa must strictly meet the qualifications and work experience requirements specified in the list. The list is not used for the Skilled Migrant Category or other methods of obtaining a residence permit and only applies to temporary work placement .
- list of in-demand professions Canterburry
aka the Canterbury Skills Shortage List (CSSL), covers the skills needed in the redevelopment of Canterberry, the region of New Zealand's south island hardest hit by the 2011 earthquake, and facilitates the issuance of temporary work visas for these professions. Updated quarterly and may include specialties not included in either the Immediate Skill Shortage List (ISSL) or the Long Term Skill Shortage List (LTSSL). If a person comes to New Zealand to work on a CSSL basis, there is no direct link to residency . At the same time, some professions are also included in the LTSSL, so a person in this profession can obtain a residence permit through the Skilled Migrant category.
PS From time to time I receive various questions about New Zealand on VKontakte or Facebook: studying, immigration, moving, finding a job, housing, etc. It so happened that due to the abundance of lush and colorful landscapes in the area, as well as the large amount of work (I already wrote that in New Zealand you have to work a lot), there is less and less free time. However, I will try to answer everyone at once, so as they say, stay tunned - interesting and much more practical posts are expected later on the blog
