Registration of citizenship of Belarus: step-by-step instructions, deadlines, necessary documents

Moving for permanent residence to Belarus for Russian citizens in 2021 will not be difficult. A visa is not needed to stay in Belarus; a person has the right to come to the country, live and work. One “but” – you will need to register. To do this, you must either acquire ownership of real estate or agree on the rental of rental housing. This will cost money - up to $50 for each month.

It will be more difficult to obtain a residence permit in Belarus. You will need to have a good reason for this:

  1. Marry a citizen of the country.
  2. Have a high professional level.
  3. Invest 150,000 euros in the state economy.

The population of the country is prohibited from having dual citizenship. Having received a residence permit and having lived for 10 years, you will have to lose Russian citizenship. Although everything is allowed there - the geographical location and mentality allow everyone in the country to live and work peacefully. List of required documents in 2021:

  • Completed application form;
  • Detailed autobiographical information written;
  • Foreign passport, except for persons with refugee status in Belarus;
  • If available, proof of a criminal record in your home country;
  • Confirmation of legal presence in Belarus in the form of a registration mark issued by the Department of Internal Affairs. It is based on actual residence or temporary residence;

  • Availability of a medical certificate confirming the absence of diseases that may pose a danger to the population;
  • 6 recent photos – color, 40*50 mm in size, made on one sheet;
  • Availability of a document allowing you to live in a specific place in Belarus;
  • Payment of state fee in the amount of 24 US dollars.

The list is quite large, and before you start collecting documents, it wouldn’t hurt to find out more about each of them.

Obtaining citizenship of Belarus

The signed agreements between the Russian Federation and Belarus allow anyone to obtain Belarusian citizenship. Whether to issue citizenship or not is decided directly by the head of state.

Emigrating and obtaining citizenship of the Republic of Belarus is not a very popular event today. There are enough reasons for this - the instability of the economy, the not too high level of wages in Belarus and many others.

Moreover, the process of obtaining Belarusian citizenship cannot be called simple.

About life in Belarus and relations with Russia

Despite the discord in the political arena, the migration of Russians to Belarus has not decreased. In addition to visiting relatives or traveling for tourism purposes, some residents of the Russian Federation wish to travel to this country for permanent residence and obtain citizenship.

Among the advantages of living in Belarus, many highlight the mentality of the local residents. Almost all of them are very kind, friendly, hospitable, and always ready to help. Unlike other countries, there is no language barrier, and if someone wants to speak Belarusian, it is easy to understand.

Both in a big city and in a small village, the cleanliness and quality of the roads is amazing. Small settlements continue to develop, and not die out, as in other CIS countries.

Another plus is high-quality food. The food is significantly different even in taste, not to mention the absence of harmful additives that most of us are accustomed to.

Those who plan to live in Belarus should take into account a number of disadvantages that they will have to face. For example, the service remained at the Soviet level. At a gas station you will have to fill the fuel yourself, in a catering establishment the principle “the customer is always right” does not apply, in a store you can encounter rudeness from the staff, and in 90% of cases it is generally impossible to learn anything from a sales consultant.

The conditions here are unfavorable for entrepreneurs - due to a number of restrictions in the law, it is impossible to open a small business. Art lovers will not find anything interesting here. Theatres, cinemas, galleries, exhibitions have clearly stopped at the level of the 80s of the last century.

    Dual citizenship in Belarus

    Citizenship has the concept of "dual" and "2". In the first case, this means that a citizen can have citizenship of two states where this is recognized. Two citizenships are considered if one person has 2 passports, but both countries of which he is a citizen recognize only theirs. The law of Belarus does not recognize dual citizenship for adults.

    In a country, it is allowed to live with dual citizenship only from the moment of majority if the father and/or mother already has a civil document of this country or lives here.

    If there is a second citizenship, there will be no punishment, since this does not go against the law. Some useful points about Belarusian citizenship:
