This Balkan state differs from its former neighbors in the Yugoslav Federation. The ten-day war in June 1991 did not cause such widespread destruction as in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina or Kosovo. Students, while studying at universities in Slovenia, have the right to work part-time, up to 20 hours a week during the year, and 40 hours during the holidays. Wages are hourly and taxed at 22.5%. After graduating from university, most students find employment in the country where they studied.

Refugee
Immigrating as a refugee is not a problem, but it is not a popular method. After crossing the border of the Republic, you must request refugee status within three days or immediately upon entering the country. Foreigners who have received refugee status in Slovenia can apply for a residence permit and have the right to housing provided by the Republic, work and study in Slovenia. For immigrants, when there is a threat to life and health, there is international protection. To do this, you need to prove how serious the threat is in your homeland.
