Take the free test and find out your chances. Despite having a number of advantages, there are also some disadvantages. A significant disadvantage is that the candidate for citizenship will have to renounce his current citizenship. Disadvantages also include the high cost of real estate, relatively low wages and the lack of need for qualified specialists.

Important! The need to renounce current citizenship only applies to foreigners applying to obtain a Slovenian passport through naturalization.

Obtaining Slovenian citizenship in various ways

AnatolyShubin 11/19/2021

Citizenship of Slovenia RED PASSPORT be careful, SCAMsters! I would like to share with you my story of obtaining Slovenian citizenship and warn everyone who wants to obtain Slovenian citizenship through the mediation of the RED PASSPORT company. I’ll say right away that RED PASSPORT are scammers in their purest form, do not have any illusions, do not listen to all the stories and fairly convincing arguments of its employees, save your money and nerves! The desire to have European citizenship led me to search for possible options on the Internet, and it was there that I met the RED PASSPORT company with a quite “decent” website and pleasant managers who call themselves lawyers. Including Dmitry Kress, who directly communicated with me. I admit that the names are fictitious, although the employees’ passports were sent to me by mail. The guys are excellent psychologists, they conduct conversations competently, answer all questions and leave virtually no doubt that you will have citizenship within the prescribed period (6 months for the accelerated procedure and 8 months for the regular one). The idea is that you become a citizen of Slovenia under the repatriation program, because you will have a Slovenian great-grandmother in your roots (for example, maybe another relative, but mine turned out to be a great-grandmother). Next, according to the RED PASSPORT managers, you take an oath in the Slovenian language, which you supposedly will easily and naturally learn by the date of the oath, and the treasured citizenship is in your pocket. Unfortunately, everything turned out to be not so rosy. RED PASSPORT employees sent me an agreement for the provision of services for obtaining citizenship and all the constituent documents for their organization. Everything is designed clearly and professionally, there is nothing to grab onto. By the way, it turned out that there is a nice bonus: children under 16 years of age receive citizenship in the place of their parent for free, incl. All my children were included in the contract. At the same time, they asked me for all possible documents: passports, birth certificates of my children, my parents, high-quality photographs of faces, a compiled biography indicating places of study and work. Some documents were asked to be redone, which convinced me more and more that the company was serious and would really lead me to the desired result. By the way, the amount of the first payment is only 600 euro. But the most interesting thing is that you pay not to the company, but to some individual, to whom RED PASSPORT sends a scanned power of attorney in order to mislead the average person, since no power of attorney will tie the payment to the agreement in any way. The company motivates this by the fact that they make many payments for obtaining citizenship unofficially and cannot withdraw them from the company’s account. DON'T fall for this nonsense!!! After about 2-3 weeks, they sent me scans of the documents according to which I was approved for citizenship. They were beautifully done, including photographs of the grave of “my” Slovenian great-grandmother, her marriage certificate with my grandfather and a covering letter from the migration department, which confirms that the documents for granting me citizenship have been accepted by the Slovenian administration. As it turned out later, this was all done in PHOTOSHOP! According to the terms of the agreement, after this there is a second payment in the amount of 6000 euros. And here's a surprise, the account is again on a certain individual, under some kind of power of attorney. Honestly, the documents sent to me were so realistic that they left no doubt. I paid the bill and began to wait for when I would fly to take the oath of office in Slovenia. I will say more, this whole situation developed during the period of closure of air traffic between countries due to COVID-19 and I was painfully working through options on how to get to a European state with closed borders. But as Dmitry Kress assured me, if the problem persists by the time of issuance, the Slovenian Administration will send me the documents to the Russian Embassy. But now all the deadlines have passed, air travel has become possible, but still no one invited me to the solemn oath. At the same time, Dmitry Kress was always in touch with me, telling me that another week and everything would be fine, that the delay was solely due to several months of quarantine. It got to the point that RED PASSPORT gave me an “official letter” from the Administration of Slovenia, with the following content: “Your documents have been approved, wait for the date of the solemn oath.” And again, as it turned out later, it was PHOTOSHOP! Based on this letter, I personally contacted the Migration Department through the official website of the Slovenian administration and received an official response that the Migration Department had NEVER received any data on my last name, first name and patronymic, and there was no case regarding my admission to citizenship. The answer to the question why the RED PASSPORT scammers kept in contact with me for so long even after payment is very simple - my friend contacted them on my recommendation and they took their time in every possible way until they received the second payment of 6,000 euros from him, but, fortunately, they did not wait . I declare with full responsibility that it is impossible to obtain a passport of a citizen of Slovenia through RED PASSPORT, they have answers to all questions, the most common arguments: - All reviews are made by special companies that want to be paid for removing the negative, but we are so principled about this will not go; -Those people who received citizenship through us do not want to be exposed, and we do not disclose our clients; “It is a matter of honor for us to prove to you that we are not scammers; -This program is beneficial to the state, it was specially invented to increase the population, if the program had not worked, it would not have existed for so many years; -Negative reviews on the Internet do not have attached contracts, the amounts vary from client to customer, etc. If they give you any other arguments, as well as tell you that this review was left by their competitors, it will seem to you that everything is very logical and truthful , just agree to pay any money ONLY after your personal request on the official website of the Slovenian government! And don’t be fooled by the idea that it’s better to do all this through their person, who negotiates directly somewhere, etc. This office is swindlers and swindlers and all the documents that they will send you are PHOTOSHOP!!! Now 4 months have passed since the date when I was supposed to receive citizenship. Naturally, no one has contacted me for a long time. The only thing I really want to do is bring scammers to justice they deserve. And I will definitely achieve this! Unfortunately, it is not allowed to post photos on the forum, so it is with great pleasure that I will provide you with all their creativity, which they sent me upon request for this box! If someone has already become a victim of these crooks, write also to this mailbox [email protected] for joint actions aimed at bringing RED PASSPORT to justice! And you, a bunch of scoundrels from RED PASSPORT, reading this review now, know that you will not escape responsibility, I can only imagine how many people you have spoiled the nerves of, not to mention how much money you stole!

Criteria for applicants

The current legislation of Slovenia defines a number of restrictions for applicants for a Slovenian passport:

  • in this country, only adults (over 18 years of age) can apply for citizenship;
  • a residence permit (residence permit) is required, as well as a sufficient level of income and housing;
  • it is necessary to comply with the residence qualification, which is provided for applicants for citizenship;
  • fluency in the state language is required, which must be confirmed in advance;
  • The applicant should not have serious problems with the laws in this country, and in addition, there should be no outstanding financial obligations.

Only if these criteria are met, the right to request Slovenian citizenship after long-term residence on the territory of the state becomes available.

Prohibition on acquiring citizenship

Despite the fact that Slovenian legislation is friendly towards migrants, there are a number of restrictions that do not allow issuing a passport from this country:

  • persons whose work threatens the security of Slovenia (military personnel or specialists from law enforcement agencies and government agencies) are not accepted as citizens;
  • It will not be possible to obtain citizenship for those applicants who are wanted by Interpol for connections with terrorists and extremist organizations;
  • also, citizenship is not issued to those persons who are subject to extradition for committed unlawful acts;
  • persons who have previously violated the migration regime in the country or on the territory of the European Union will not be able to obtain a Slovenian passport;
  • if a person is subject to criminal prosecution in another state, then the delivery of citizenship is also not allowed.

A thorough check is carried out in relation to the applicant for citizenship, so in such a situation it will not be possible to hide anything from the intelligence services.

Documentary proof of Slovenian citizenship

A migrant can feel like a real citizen when he has 2 documents in his hands:

  • Osebna izkaznica – citizen’s national passport or ID card – confirmation of permanent residence in the state;
  • Potrdilo o državljanstvu – certificate of citizenship.

Each citizen is assigned an individual number (analogous to the Russian TIN). It is written on the ID card and indicates that the citizen is registered with the local branch of the Ministry of Justice.

The presence of these two documents confirms the fact of legal and legal residence in the country. If a citizen is going to leave the state (he has the right to travel to his historical homeland or travel to other powers), then it is necessary to apply for a ponti list_passpotro - a tax for a Russian foreign passport with biometric data. This document is valid throughout the Schengen area.

Reasons

To become a subject of this European country, appropriate grounds are required. The law provides for the following:

  1. Citizenship by birth and descent.
  2. Nationality granted upon marriage to a citizen of a country.
  3. Standard naturalization procedure.
  4. Investment or business immigration to Slovenia.

In each individual case, specific conditions are provided for the subsequent delivery of a Slovenian passport.

Birth and origin

To obtain citizenship by birthright, the applicant must meet certain criteria:

  • all children born to citizens of the country, regardless of place;
  • if a child is born from a mixed marriage of a citizen of the country and a foreigner, then he also has the right to receive status;
  • children born in another territory from a representative of the country and an unknown person or stateless person receive Slovenian citizenship;
  • all children who are adopted into a Slovenian family automatically receive citizenship of the state.

To qualify for civil status by descent, you must have relatives in Slovenia (a maximum of 4 categories of relationship is allowed). In such situations, the principle of residence for applicants will be reduced to 1 year.

Marriage

In accordance with the current legislation of Slovenia, citizenship through marriage is allowed. In such a situation, it is necessary to formalize the marriage. Live in the country while married for more than 3 years. However, you are not allowed to travel abroad for the entire period.

Naturalization

For those wishing to obtain Slovenian citizenship, the legislator has provided a standard procedure. To become a citizen of the country, you must reside in the state for more than 10 years. At the same time, for the last 60 months before submitting the application, travel abroad must be completely excluded. Stay on the territory of Slovenia is carried out on the basis of a residence permit. For persons who received education in the country, the period is reduced to 7 years, while they are also not allowed to leave the state for the last 5 years.

Investments and business

To qualify for citizenship through business immigration or investment, a number of criteria are provided. The applicant must obtain a residence permit for the entire period of residence. You also need a work permit in Slovenia. The company's authorized capital must be at least 7,500 euros. In turn, the six-month turnover is more than 60 thousand. As for investments, their volume should be over 50 thousand euros. The investment is made in the state economy for a period of 3 years. You must employ at least one Slovenian citizen at your enterprise.

Other grounds

If necessary, you can apply for a Slovenian passport for other reasons. Here we should highlight:

  • granting citizenship for persons with stateless and refugee statuses;
  • forced or voluntary loss of a Slovenian passport in the past;
  • the candidate’s activities (science, culture, education, or other significant and in-demand specialty).

In such situations, the stay in the country by settling down is significantly reduced, however, during the last year of residence before submitting the application, you cannot travel abroad either.

Procedure for obtaining Slovenian citizenship

To obtain state citizenship, several steps must be taken sequentially:

  • prepare the necessary documents;
  • hand them over to the administration of the locality in which the migrant lives;
  • wait for a positive response;
  • renounce native citizenship;
  • get a Slovenian passport.

These are the main stages, but also precede preliminary ones. This:

  • obtaining a temporary and permanent residence permit;
  • passing an exam on knowledge of the Slovenian language, as well as the laws of the country and its culture.

Obtaining residence permit and permanent residence

After arriving in the state, you can apply for a temporary residence permit. This can be done in Slovenia itself or in your home state. The basis is a completed application form, which indicates the reason for coming to the country - training, employment, etc. The validity period of a temporary residence permit is 1 year; it must be constantly extended by personal application. When the period of residence under a temporary residence permit becomes 5 years, you can apply for permanent residence. The validity period of permanent residence is not limited, there is no need to explain the reasons for obtaining it. You can live your whole life in Slovenia on the basis of permanent residence without obtaining a national passport. It will be legal!

Required documents to obtain citizenship

You need to prepare a set of documents, which includes:

  • valid passport, original and copy;
  • national passport of the country from which the applicant came - a copy;
  • photo;
  • autobiography;
  • a certificate stating that the candidate for citizenship has no criminal record;
  • certificate of passing an exam on knowledge of the national language at a level not lower than basic;
  • additional documentation - depends on the basis for which the migration occurred (birth certificate, marriage certificate, if family reunification occurs, documents confirming origin);
  • proof that the candidate has lived in the country for at least 10 years.

Submission of documents

The set of documents must be submitted to the administration of the municipality in which the foreigner lives. The fee must be paid in advance. The receipt is attached to the general package.

Language testing

This is a mandatory step. Those who graduated from high school or university here after 1991 are exempt from the exam. Also, persons over 60 years of age, who have lived in Slovenia for more than 15 years, or those who have mental or physical disabilities do not take the exam.

Cost and terms

The fee is 354 euros per applicant. The consideration of an application for citizenship takes 6-8 months, sometimes 1.5 years.

Possibility of obtaining dual citizenship

For applicants for citizenship who plan to obtain a Slovenian passport through naturalization, maintaining Russian citizenship is almost impossible. The only exceptions are promising individuals whose preservation of civil status in Russia is of interest to the Slovenian authorities. In other situations, there is no need to renounce a Russian passport. The legislation of this country allows its citizens to have a second citizenship.

Important! Among the persons whose second citizenship the authorities are interested in include scientists, athletes, and also large investors and businessmen.

PROS AND CONS OF OBTAINING A RESIDENCE PERMIT IN SLOVENIA:

A residence permit in Slovenia on the basis of employment in one’s own company has a number of disadvantages and, in turn, opens up new opportunities and prospects for the migrant.

Disadvantages of a residence permit in Slovenia

The disadvantages of a residence permit in Slovenia include the following facts:

  • The initial residence permit is valid for one year. Then it is extended first for a similar period, and subsequently for 2 years.
  • To obtain a residence permit, your company must continue to fulfill one of the conditions: have fixed assets worth at least 50 thousand euros or a turnover of at least 60 thousand euros over the last 6 months.
  • Russians can only purchase real estate under a legal entity.
  • There is no opportunity to work in government agencies.
  • If the move is carried out on a business visa, then for the first 2 years you have the opportunity to work only at your own enterprise.
  • It is extremely difficult to get a hired job without knowing the local language.
  • In accordance with the new legislation, since 2015, foreigners who arrived on a work visa or business immigration can reunite with their family only after one year.

Advantages of a residence permit in Slovenia

A Slovenian residence permit expands the horizons of possibilities, which, of course, covers all the existing disadvantages. Having a residence permit in Slovenia provides a foreigner with:

  • Opportunity to apply for permanent residence status and Slovenian citizenship
  • The right to travel to Schengen countries without visas
  • Opportunity to open an account in a reliable bank
  • Opportunity to work in Europe;
  • Opportunity to do business in a stable zone of the European Union
  • Social protection in the form of social benefits, allowances and payments
  • Access to quality medical services at the European level
  • Possibility of free education for children

  • Foreigners have the same rights as Slovenes, with the exception of the ability to vote.

Procedure for obtaining citizenship

To obtain Slovenian citizenship for applicants, the current legislation establishes a standard procedure. After living in the state for a certain amount of time, you have to prepare and submit the necessary documents to the administration. The forms can be translated into three official languages: Slovenian, Hungarian and Italian.

Preparation of documents

To apply for citizenship, you must prepare the following set of documentation:

  • a completed application form, autobiography and application for citizenship;
  • appropriate confirmation of renunciation of other citizenship;
  • copies of passport, international passport and residence permit, as well as birth certificate;
  • several color photographs;
  • confirmation of no criminal record in Russia;
  • certificate confirming official income in Slovenia;
  • confirmation of housing availability and a form of compliance with the residence qualification.

Depending on the grounds, other documents may be required to confirm the right to obtain citizenship. Of course, all official papers are provided with a translation certified by a notary.

Submission of documents

After preparing all the necessary papers and paying the state fee (the receipt is attached to the application), you will have to send the request to the local administration. The application is made directly at the place of residence of the applicant for citizenship.

Cost and terms

In accordance with the current legislation of Slovenia, for registration of citizenship you will have to pay a state fee of 354 euros for each individual person. Subsequently, after receiving the documentation, the registration process can last from six months to 8 months. In exceptional situations, by decision of the authorities, this period can be increased to one and a half years.

  1. Not all documents have been provided, or the applicant does not meet the established criteria.
  2. There is a low level of income, financial insolvency or large debt obligations.
  3. The applicant has exceeded the time limit for staying abroad during the established period for the residence report.

If necessary, the applicant has the right to appeal the authorities' decisions in court. It is also possible to re-apply after eliminating the discrepancy.

Important! To appeal the refusal, the applicant for citizenship has only 14 days from the date of the negative decision on the application.

Russian citizens can apply for Slovenian citizenship. This country is part of the European Union, and provides for a fairly easy but lengthy registration procedure. Of course, there are some peculiarities, but subsequently, wide opportunities open up for the subject. The only thing that must be strictly followed is compliance with the established legislation, which will subsequently eliminate possible difficulties.

Important aspects

To obtain Slovenian citizenship in 2021, a foreigner will have to study the laws and information.

We recommend: State duty for obtaining a passport in 2021

The main 2 rules, subject to which a foreign citizen receives the right to a residence permit, then permanent residence and ultimately civil rights:

The migrant resides in the country legallyA document confirming this fact is a registration certificate at the place of residence
The foreign person was not suspected of illegal actsThis means that the person in this case does not pose a threat to the politics and society of Slovenia

Basic information

The first document that a non-resident needs to obtain is a residence permit certificate. Slovenia is one of the countries where the Schengen zone operates.

To enter the territory you will need a Schengen visa. The procedure is carried out in the same way as in other countries on the list.

A certificate is issued upon provision of the following set of papers:

  • written or printed application;
  • photographs according to a given pattern;
  • passport or other identification paper;
  • medical examination certificate and insurance;
  • a document confirming the income necessary for living;
  • certificate of good conduct;
  • if the applicant belongs to the category of entrepreneurs, he will have to provide a certificate obtained from the Ministry of Foreign Economy.

What conditions must be met?

To submit an application for consideration to the Slovenian government, a foreign citizen will have to go through 2 stages - acquire a residence permit, then permanent residence - the right to permanent residence. The issue of acquiring a residence permit is discussed above.

The following conditions must be met to obtain permanent residence:

Residence in the state for at least 5 yearsMoreover, if a migrant entered the country on a long-term visa, this period is also included in these 5 years
If the visa expires and a residence permit is obtained
If a migrant belongs to the category of students and has the right to a residence permit, the period of residence is divided into twoTherefore, it is possible to obtain permanent residence within 2.5 years from the date of arrival and start of studies in the country

We recommend: Note on Russian citizenship in the child’s birth certificate

The documentation that is collected for the acquisition of permanent residence is similar to that submitted when applying for a residence permit.

What the law says

The Justice of Slovenia has a law that states that it is necessary to purchase a residence permit before arrival. With a valid certificate, a non-resident will be able to safely cross the borders of the above state.

To implement the plan, the foreigner contacts the Slovenian diplomatic mission.

The list of required documents for application is indicated above, and all documentation attached to the application is translated into the official language of the state - Slovenian.

There is a list of acceptable factors for obtaining a residence permit after entry if the migrant falls into one of the following categories:

  • professional sportsman;
  • servants of religion;
  • journalists who have confirmation of accreditation in the country;
  • teachers and teachers;
  • people involved in the scientific field;

Residents who arrived in Slovenia for a period of study, under an employment contract or for marriage must confirm this fact.

If there is a need to extend your stay, you will need a list of documents that were provided previously upon your first application.

Immediately after arriving in the country, the migrant, after 3 days, applies to the local administration office to register his place of residence.

Advantages of a new resident of the country

After receiving a new passport, a foreigner has additional opportunities and advantages:

  • life in the EU;
  • lack of traffic jams due to the country's size;
  • respect for nature - clean air;
  • buying a car is cheap;
  • food products are not treated with pesticides;
