At what pedestrian crossings can you cross the Russian-Ukrainian border?

Coronavirus restrictions in Ukraine from February 24

Quarantine restrictions from February 24 will apply according to the new rule. To do this, the territory will be conditionally divided into zones of different danger levels depending on the number of infected people.

The entire country is considered a conditionally yellow zone. If a sharp increase in morbidity occurs in any part, it receives the status of a red zone - the highest danger.

Where the number of cases approaches zero, a green zone is introduced. Each zone will have its own set of quarantine restrictions. As previously reported, the lockdown, strict restrictions, were lifted in the country on January 24. The currently established light quarantine will last until April 30, 2021.

The borders of Ukraine for some categories of Russians have been open since September 29, 2021. Restrictions apply for travelers from countries in the “red” and “green” zones.

Rules for entry into Ukraine for Russians

According to the classification of independent countries, Russia belongs to the states of the “red” zone, therefore, different requirements are imposed on Russians crossing the border than for persons from the countries of the “green” zone:

  • Install the official “VyDoma” application
  • Have a negative PCR test result for coronavirus dated no earlier than 48 hours before entry.
  • Have a health insurance policy that covers treatment for coronavirus.

Insurance must be issued by a company registered in Ukraine or a foreign company that has official contracts with Ukrainian representatives.

Entry into Kiev is allowed with international passports and an invitation.

All official information on entry during the quarantine period for Russian citizens can be found through the contacts listed on the website of the Russian Embassy in Kyiv.

Types of invitations to enter Ukraine

Despite economic and political difficulties, Ukraine continues to live its normal life. Enterprises operate in the country, people go on vacation, competitions and various contests are held. The country is visited annually by millions of guests who travel for different purposes. The invitation to enter the country indicates the purpose of the visit:

  • tourist;
  • private
  • business

An invitation for tourism purposes allows you to stay in the country for no more than thirty days. On a private visit, you can visit Ukraine for a period of thirty to one hundred and eighty days. The same deadlines are provided for business invitations. The cost of the invitation depends on the length of stay of the invitees in the country.

Entry conditions

Currently, Russia is part of the “green zone”. Requirements for travelers: have a negative PCR test and medical insurance.

It is recommended to track the current list of countries classified as “red” or “green” zones on the website of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

If at the time of entry Russia is in the “red” zone, the following conditions must be met:

1. Install the “YouHome” application.

2. Take a PCR test and stay in self-isolation until you receive the result.

In addition to coronavirus restrictions, you need to take into account general requirements when crossing the Ukrainian-Russian border. As for a visa, it is not required for entry of Russian citizens.

What you need to enter Russia

1. Contact the host to issue an invitation

2. Tell the host your personal information, the purpose and timing of the trip and the places you plan to visit

3. Obtain copies of the invitation, letter of guarantee and permission from the Federal Migration Service of the Russian Federation

4. You must have with you an amount based on the cost of living in the Russian Federation - 2240 UAH. per person per month, as well as a return ticket or the amount for its purchase. Or confirmation from the bank that there is a sufficient amount in your account.

Relations between countries

Relations between the countries, according to open sources, remain tense. Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that Kiev refuses to establish normal relations with Moscow and, as a rule, chooses a “hostile path.”

The chosen tactics of the Ukrainian side do not allow partnership trade and economic ties between the countries to develop normally. Both countries are interested in cooperation, but the authorities’ policies do not allow normal interaction to begin.

Border crossing

Although the rules for the entry of Ukrainians into Russia have changed, they still do not need a visa to cross the border and can enter the Russian Federation using an internal passport. But, according to the law, within 7 working days from the time of arrival you need to register with the migration service and register at your place of residence.

A mandatory condition for crossing the border is filling out a migration card, where in the column about the purpose of the visit, the migrant must indicate his intentions: employment, private visit, etc.

The tear-off part of the card, which will be handed over, must be preserved, since when citizens of Ukraine cross the Russian border back in 2021, it will need to be returned to the border guard, and a comparison of entry and exit dates should confirm compliance with migration norms. It is equally important that notes are made on the migration card about the extension of the period of stay in the Russian Federation.

Which pedestrian crossings are open on the Russian-Ukrainian borders

“The draft act was developed with the aim of resuming pedestrian traffic at checkpoints on the state border with the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus in connection with the gradual easing of quarantine measures in Ukraine,” said Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov.

In addition, the head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that it is planned to resume traffic for pedestrians and vehicles at the Dolsk and Vilcha border checkpoints.

Moreover, not so long ago it was announced that the work of Ukrainian checkpoints with the Crimean peninsula would be resumed. In addition, it became known about the abolition of mandatory isolation and observation for citizens who enter the mainland of Ukraine from Crimea, as well as the Donetsk and Lugansk people's republics.

At the same time, the lifting of isolation does not mean the absence of certain conditions for arriving citizens. Indeed, it will be necessary to install special applications, thanks to which the Ukrainian authorities have data regarding people in self-isolation. If citizens do not install these applications or refuse to use them when crossing the border, they will have to pay a fine of seventeen thousand hryvnia. Translated into national currency, this is more than forty-four thousand.

Rules for crossing the Ukraine-Russia border

Despite the seriously deteriorated relations between Russia and Ukraine and the tightened entry rules for citizens of the two countries, the flow of people crossing the border in both directions has not become much less. How to minimize difficulties that arise at border checkpoints, and what documents do you need to take with you?

The scandal on the border between Russia and Ukraine is just beginning. There will be consequences. What else

First, the essence of the event.

On December 4, 2021, on the border of Russia and Ukraine (Belgorod region/Sumy region) there was a shootout between “our” border guards and guests from the West. One of those who broke through to Russia did not return to Ukraine. And now the fun begins. Ukraine put forward its version of events. The Ukrainian version sounds idiotic, but, as they say, what came to mind was voiced.

It turns out that three deserters from the Ukrainian Armed Forces fled with weapons to Russia, but they were not allowed in. The deserters were offended and began to shoot. Our border guards returned fire, one was killed, others ran away to where they “sort of” deserted (GUR? SBU?). Now the Ukrainian media are talking about how open they are, how they are telling the whole truth about this incident on the border, and how bad and secretive the Russians are. OK. Let's go. Let the Russians be bad. But then why is Ukraine in no hurry to take the corpse of its citizen?

And here is the most interesting thing.

With a high degree of probability, I personally would venture to assume exactly this, this is the corpse of not a Ukrainian citizen at all. It may well even be, with a high degree of probability, British, or something else? Now, after analyzing many publications, I will risk expressing my version of events.

The SBU recruited a group of citizens with the aim of organizing the commission of a crime on Russian territory, who were offered to steal a certain object for 200 thousand dollars (The name and interest of Ukraine and the West in this citizen is known, but on principle I will not voice it. On our own. All on our own. It’s not difficult .).

The kidnappers were given an advance of $50,000. The kidnapped person was to be taken to the border of Russia and Belarus and handed over from hand to hand to a group of Ukrainian special forces. When trying to detain the criminals, Ukrainian special forces opened fire, under the cover of which they tried to escape back to Ukraine.

Return fire, one of the group of saboteurs was killed, two escaped, the kidnapped person was released, the agents were detained and give evidence. That's all it seems. All that remains is to establish who the unlucky one is and what country is he a citizen of? But it's just a matter of time.

Now, about the consequences of this event. It is quite obvious that the machine guns of the Russian border guards on the border with Ukraine, and not only, have been removed from the safeties and the cartridges are already in the chambers. No one will repeat it again.
