What are the types of work visas?

Work visas can be single or multiple entry.

A single-entry ordinary work visa is issued to foreigners entering the Russian Federation to carry out work activities for a short period of time with the possibility of its subsequent extension.

When extended, the foreigner is issued a multiple-entry visa for the duration of the employment or civil contract.

A multiple-entry ordinary work visa is also issued to foreigners who are highly qualified specialists (HQS) and members of their families for the duration of the employment contract or civil law contract.

The package of documents for obtaining a work visa includes:

  2. The employing company must contact the authorized government agency to obtain an individual work permit for a specific foreign citizen.
  3. After this, the employing company must submit documents to issue an invitation to him to obtain a work visa.
  4. After this, the invitation and work permit are sent by the employer to the foreign worker, who submits them to the consular office as part of the package of documents for obtaining a work visa.

For members of his family, a foreign citizen can also apply for a work visa, which will indicate “accompanying family member” in the “Purpose of visit” column.

Validity period of a work visa
