What are the types of work visas?

Work visas can be single or multiple entry.

A single-entry ordinary work visa is issued to foreigners entering the Russian Federation to carry out work activities for a short period of time with the possibility of its subsequent extension.

When extended, the foreigner is issued a multiple-entry visa for the duration of the employment or civil contract.

A multiple-entry ordinary work visa is also issued to foreigners who are highly qualified specialists (HQS) and members of their families for the duration of the employment contract or civil law contract.

In each individual case, at each stage, various documents are required to obtain a work visa. To obtain an invitation required to obtain a work visa, you need:

a copy of the foreigner’s passport with a translation into Russian (the translation must be certified by a notary);

How to apply for a work visa?

The foreigner submits the received invitation to the consular office along with other documents necessary to obtain a work visa.

In addition to the invitation, a foreigner needs to collect the necessary documents and also pay a consular fee for obtaining a visa.

The package of documents for obtaining a work visa includes:

a foreign passport or other identification document valid at the time of registration and recognized as such by the Russian Federation;

The passport should not raise doubts about the authenticity and ownership of its owner, contain marks, reservations, entries, erasures and corrections not certified by the competent authorities of the relevant foreign state, torn or embroidered pages. The passport must have at least two blank pages intended for visas.

The validity of the passport should not expire earlier than one and a half years from the date of validity of the visa.

Stages of obtaining a work visa

To obtain a work visa for a foreign worker, the following steps must be taken:

The employing company must obtain a quota to attract workers who are citizens of a particular country. To do this, the employer submits information about himself to the State Employment Service and, after a period specified by law, applies to the Federal Migration Service for permission to hire foreign workers.
The employing company must contact the authorized government agency to obtain an individual work permit for a specific foreign citizen.
After this, the employing company must submit documents to issue an invitation to him to obtain a work visa.
After this, the invitation and work permit are sent by the employer to the foreign worker, who submits them to the consular office as part of the package of documents for obtaining a work visa.

For members of his family, a foreign citizen can also apply for a work visa, which will indicate “accompanying family member” in the “Purpose of visit” column.

To obtain a work visa, a foreign citizen must first prepare and certify documents, fill out an application and take a photograph.

Validity period of a work visa

A single-entry ordinary work visa is issued to foreigners for a period of up to three months with the possibility of its subsequent extension. When extended, the foreigner is issued a multiple-entry visa for the duration of the employment or civil contract, but not more than one year for each subsequent visa.

A multiple-entry ordinary work visa is issued for the duration of an employment contract or civil law contract, but for no more than three years, with a subsequent extension of its validity for the duration of the contract. It can be extended for no more than three years for each such extension (clause 7 of article 25.6 of the Law of August 15, 1996 No. 114-FZ “On the procedure for leaving the Russian Federation and entering the Russian Federation”, clause 35 of the Regulations, approved. Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated 06/09/2003 No. 335).

A foreigner who does not leave the territory of the Russian Federation after the expiration of the visa and who does not apply for its extension faces a fine - from 2 thousand to 5 thousand rubles with deportation from the Russian Federation. An offense committed in Moscow, St. Petersburg and the corresponding regions will “cost” more - from 5 thousand to 7 thousand rubles.

A Polish work visa allows you to legally stay in the country and gives you the right to official employment. Employers have the right to employ visa-free foreigners if they have a patent.

Important! Attracting visa-free foreigners is convenient because it does not require the employer to obtain permission to attract and use foreign labor, or an invitation, or to issue a work permit.

That is, in order to hire a visa-free foreigner, the employer does not need to obtain special permits, but only register with the Main Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs as an employer of migrants and receive a registration card.

According to the Polish legislative framework, there are several types of work visas that foreign nationals can apply for.

Visa for 180 days, that is 6 months. It allows you to stay in Poland for 180 calendar days. Everyone will be able to obtain it independently if they provide all the necessary documents.
