How to correctly fill out an application for a Schengen visa in 2021: which pen to write with and how to print

How to fill out a Schengen application form? This is the question asked by people receiving a visa for the first time. To ensure that the embassy does not refuse to accept your application, provide a complete package of documents. Do not make mistakes when filling out, otherwise consular officers will return the papers.

The information in the application form must be reliable, relevant, and consistent with the documents presented. Otherwise you will not receive a visa. To avoid such consequences, familiarize yourself with the rules and recommendations for completing the application form, but before that, find out what Schengen provides.

Benefits of a Schengen visa

If you have a Schengen visa, a person can freely travel to the Schengen zone - the territory of 26 countries (22 EU members, 4 EFTA members). These states have signed an agreement according to which Schengen persons can move freely within their state borders. To get this opportunity, citizens apply for a standard visa by contacting the consulate of one of 26 countries. If the embassy staff approves the application and issues a visa document, the person will be able to stay in the Schengen area for 90 days (within 6 months). This is a general rule that can be supplemented depending on the visa category, which has 4 options: A, B, C, D. The last type is a national visa, and tourists mainly receive Schengen type C.

Application form for Schengen

The questionnaire itself consists of 4 pages (2 for each A4 sheet), on which there are 37 points to fill out. It is also accompanied by a declaration that the person applying for the visa provides only true information about himself. The first 20 points relate to the applicant’s identity - the name, place and date of birth, information about the international passport, and information about work are indicated here. The next 10 points are information about the trip (why, where, for how many days). It is also required to indicate whether Schengen visas have been received previously. Points 31-33 inform the consulate about the receiving party. Here you will find the details of the hotel, information about the inviting company or information about the person you are planning to visit.

Features of filling out the form

Columns 34 and 35 are filled in only when the person submitting the application is close and dear to an EU citizen. Point 36 indicates the date of registration of the questionnaire, and point 37 is the place for signature.

Forms for obtaining a visa to Germany

Filling Features

The application form for obtaining a visa must be filled out correctly - the likelihood of receiving travel permission will largely depend on this. It must be filled out in English, as well as Russian or the official language of the state where the trip is being made.

Attention! Not all consulates accept applications submitted in Russian! Therefore, it is worth filling out the document in English transliteration. The applicant's name must be written in the same way as in the passport. The name of the hotel is also indicated in Latin or information about the inviting party is entered.

It is better not to use Russian when filling out the application form.

The application form should not contain any blots, corrections or crossed out deadlines. Nothing can be corrected even with the help of a proofreader . There should be no empty lines in the form. For example, if the applicant does not have data that can be entered in a certain paragraph, then the word “no” is written there or a dash is placed, depending on the situation.

Filling out the form, if done manually, should only be done with a black pen. By the way, some countries (Latvia, Slovakia, Estonia, etc.) require the submission of forms filled out only electronically. You can choose how to fill out the form when submitting documents to the Consulates of Germany, Poland, Lithuania, and Finland. When filling out the form, it is important to ensure that block letters are used and the text is legible.

How to fill out the form correctly?

Let's look at an example of how to fill out an application form for a trip to Spain.

Step 1. First, the applicant’s personal data is entered. This is the surname and first name, the patronymic is not indicated. It is required to write in the same way as in a foreign passport, not differently. Also, for example, if a woman who changed her last name when she got married enters data into the questionnaire, then her maiden name is written in column No. 2.

Entering personal data

Step 2. Next, fill out the column with the date of birth, in any format, but it is best to look at the sample issued by the consulate and do the same. In the citizenship column you need to write Russian Federation (the name “Russia” will be erroneous). In the place of birth column, you must indicate the city or other municipality where the applicant was born. Sometimes you can also indicate the region if the village is very small. If the name of the item has changed since the moment of birth, then the old name is indicated (as written on the birth certificate). As for the country of birth, it is also better to copy the information from documents (maybe USSR, Russian Federation, etc.). It is also better to clarify citizenship at birth using documents.

Date and place of birth, citizenship

On a note! The USSR country is not included in the forms filled out online. Here you will have to choose a modern name.

Step 3. Next, fill in the “Gender” and “Marital status” columns. As for marital status, if a person does not have a marriage certificate, then Fr.

Gender and marital status

Step 4. Point 10 is issued only if the child needs a Schengen visa. Here you enter information regarding parents or legal guardians. If the child went on a trip with an accompanying person (legally a stranger), then this person’s data does not need to be entered here.

Information about parents or legal guardians

Step 5. Point 11 is not filled in, since the required number is not in the internal Russian passport. This column is relevant for citizens of other countries.

This item does not need to be filled out

Step 6. The type of travel document indicates “Regular Passport”.

Type of travel document

Step 7. Next, enter information about the document - series and number of the international passport (separated by a space). Data on the date of issue of the document, validity period, and name of the authority that issued the document are also entered.

Information about international passport

Step 8. Now enter contact information. In the home address column, it is important to enter not the registration, but the place where the person lives at that time (if the addresses are different, they may be asked to bring a lease agreement, etc. It can be replaced with a certificate from work). A valid email address and telephone number must be provided.

Contact details

Step 9. In column 18 you do not need to indicate the country where the trip is being made. Here you need to indicate your affiliation with the country. Citizens living in Russia mark “no”, since the applicant does not have a residence permit, etc.

Here you need to select "no"

Step 10. The next paragraph simply states the person's position at work. There’s no need to be clever – just write “manager”, “pensioner” or “student”. Naturally, in Latin or with a translation into the language of the country.

Job title

Step 11. Item 20 is information about the employer. If a person works in a company, then entering data in this column is as easy as shelling pears. The main thing to remember is that an LLC is an LLC, a JSC is a JSC.

Employer information

Step 12. The purpose of the trip is tourism, if that is the case. Even when visiting a country by invitation, you can indicate “tourism”.

Purpose of the trip

Step 13. Next, section 22 indicates the country to whose consulate the documents are being submitted. Here it is Spain. The second column indicates the country of first entry, for example, in which the transfer is made during the flight (Germany).

Country of destination, first entry

Step 14. Next you should specify the number of entries. It is recommended to put a check mark next to multiple ones. Information is also entered on the number of nights of stay in the Schengen countries (common in all states).

Number of entries, length of stay

Step 15. If visas to visit Schengen countries were previously issued, then information about them is indicated in paragraph 26.

Schengen visas issued in the last 3 years

Step 16. If previously, when obtaining previous Schengen visas, fingerprints were taken, then in paragraph 27 you need to indicate “yes”. If not, then “no” accordingly. Column 28 is not filled in. 29 – the date indicated is no later than the date when you plan to cross the border. Accordingly, clause 30 indicates the departure date.

Were fingerprints taken?

Step 17. In the “Place of Stay” section you will need to provide information about the inviting party or information about the hotel where the room is booked.

Place of stay

Step 18. If the applicant is invited by a company, then information about the organization is entered in paragraph 32. If the trip is not classified as business, then you need to write “not applicable.”

Information about the organization

Step 19. As for expenses, in the case of a regular tourist trip, you need to check the box next to the words “the applicant himself,” that is, it is this person who pays all expenses. Payment options are also indicated - credit cards, cash, etc. (left column). If the trip is by invitation or sponsored, then the right column is filled in.

Who pays the applicant's expenses?

Step 20. But points 34 and 35 are needed only if a person is going to visit relatives. Otherwise it is not filled in.

Fill out these items if you are visiting relatives

Step 21. Next, fill out paragraph 36 - indicate the date and place of filling out the questionnaire. In paragraph 37 a signature is placed. Signatures are also placed where it is written that the person has been informed about the non-refundability of the visa fee and the need to have insurance. The last signature is placed at the end of the questionnaire and confirms consent to the processing of personal data.

Date and place of completion, signatures

Design features

The application form for a Schengen visa 2021 includes 37 points and is drawn up on 4 A4 sheets, the last of which is devoted to confirming the accuracy of the previously specified information. The applicant also confirms his consent to the further use of personal information by other persons (consular officers). Don’t rush to fill out the form right now, read these recommendations - they will help you avoid mistakes:

  • Be careful when filling out your application. For completeness, first read the guide to applying for Schengen yourself in Moscow (but this also applies to other cities in general).
  • Write in Latin letters.
  • Choose a language from the available ones: in European countries, it is common practice to prepare documents in English or the state language.
  • Write legibly - in printed font - and fill out the form with a ballpoint pen. If your handwriting is not important, you can download the PDF file of the application form and fill it out on your computer.
  • Please provide up-to-date information that can be supported by accompanying documents.

Are there any differences between an “adult” and a “child” visa?

In fact, a Schengen visa received by a minor is no different from a similar document for an adult. A person’s age plays a role only when filling out the questionnaire. For children, all required data is entered by their official representatives - parents or guardians. In addition, a child under 12 years of age will not be required to provide fingerprints for a visa.

Otherwise, the process of obtaining an entry document is the same:

  • Take a standard 4-page Schengen visa application form for free (download from our website, ask at the embassy/consulate or visa center). If applicable, information in the application is entered online via the Internet. But in any case, the application must be completed by the parent/guardian of the young citizen. It is important to remember that a separate application form for the child is submitted in any case. Even if the young tourist is included in the parent’s passport.
  • Collect documents required for the specific purpose of staying in the Schengen area. The basic “children’s” package for a tourist trip includes: The child’s international passport. If a minor is included in the parent’s passport, additional blank pages should be left in the passport (minimum 2 pages per child).
  • Birth certificate. Children over 14 years of age apply for a Russian passport.
  • 2 photographs 35 by 45 mm.
  • Certificate from the educational institution (for schoolchildren and students).
  • Confirmation of the availability of accommodation for the entire duration of the tour (hotel reservation, rental agreement, etc.). As a rule, a document is required even if the child will live in the same hotel room with the parents.
  • Sponsorship letter. Plus, a copy of the first page of the sponsor's passport and his financial guarantees (certificate from the employer, bank statement, etc.) are attached.
  • Consent of the parents/parent to the child’s departure (if the young traveler travels alone, with one of the parents or with someone else).
  • Open Schengen of parents/parent (if a small citizen makes a trip with his parents/parent, but his Schengen visa was requested later).
  • Medical insurance coverage from 30 thousand euros (valid throughout Schengen for the entire train).
  • Consent to the processing of personal information (if documentation is submitted at the visa center).

  • Submit the child’s Schengen visa application and other documents to the diplomatic mission: Directly to the embassy/consulate.
  • Through the visa center.
  • Through an accredited travel agency (if applicable).
  • Pay visa fees: consular (35 euros) and service fees when applying at the visa center (15–20 euros). Children under 6 years old are exempt from both fees.
  • Wait for a response to your request. It usually takes 5-10 business days for the case to be processed.
  • Gift: 2100 rubles for housing!
When you register using the link in AirBnB, you will receive 2100 rubles to your account.

For this money you can rent a good apartment for 1 day abroad or in Russia. The bonus only works for new accounts.

Below is a manual for completing the application form for any European Schengen application form. Which specific country to choose is up to you to decide - based on the length of stay or the ease of registration. The number of each item in our instructions is equal to the item number in the questionnaire:

    2. The information in the second paragraph is indicated only by those persons who previously changed their last name. If she was different at birth, enter the old data. Attach a document confirming the changes. If the data has changed due to marriage or marriage, you cannot do without a marriage certificate. If there are no changes, skip the item.

    20. Provide the embassy staff with your work address. If you are a student, then the location of the educational institution.
    21. Select the reason for your trip by marking it with a cross. Travel may be related to tourism or a work issue. 27. If biometric data was submitted when receiving previous visas, make a note about this next to the date.
    28. If you want to cross the Schengen zone to get to a third country, you need to have permission to visit the latter country. Indicate the details of the permit (who issued it and when, until what date is it valid).
    29. Enter the date when you plan to enter the Schengen country.
    30. Now the same thing, but with the departure date. You need to confirm your stay by booking a hotel, inn, hostel or rental property.
    31. Provide the personal details of the person inviting you to Schengen. If this is not a visit to friends or relatives, then leave the contact information of the hotel or hostel where you booked the room.
    32. If the reason for applying for a visa is a business trip, you need to have an invitation from the company, valid in Schengen. Indicate the name/name, contacts of the person/organization that invited you abroad. If you are going to a specific company, provide the first name, last name, address, email, telephone number of the person from this company. Enter the data in the cell next to it.
    33. Choose who will cover expenses for the entire trip. This is done by you or the person who invited you. Please indicate your payment method. You can pay with cash, credit card, traveler's checks, have housing and transportation already paid for. There is also another option.

    35. Select the degree of relationship. Indicate who is calling you to the Schengen territory: spouse, son or daughter, grandchildren or other relative.
    36. Write the city where the document is being filled out and the date.
    37. The last cell is for personal signature. When the application form is submitted by a person who has not reached the age of majority, the document is signed by the parent (legal representative).

    Sample filling

Filling out the visa application is easy. But people who are faced with this procedure for the first time experience some fear due to the fact that the form may be filled out incorrectly. An incorrectly completed application form may serve as a reason for refusing to accept papers for an entry permit, but it is difficult to make a mistake. In any case, if a tourist doubts which fields need to be filled in and which ones should be left blank, or what information needs to be indicated in a particular paragraph, then he can ask an employee of the visa center or embassy.

Therefore, before this procedure, you should first familiarize yourself with a sample of the correct application. Samples can be seen on general information stands at visa centers or embassies. If the form is filled out online or downloaded from the embassy’s website, then a sample form for filling out the form can be found directly on the same portal.

An example of filling out a form for obtaining a Schengen visa:

Sample of filling out the first page of the application form for a child

    • In paragraph 1 you should indicate your last name. The data should be carefully copied from the baby’s passport. Information is entered in capital Latin letters. Example: IVANOV.
    • Column 2 is not so often filled in for a child visa; this is more relevant for adults. But if the child’s surname has been changed, then paragraph 2 indicates the one that was given at birth.
    • The baby's name is written on line 3. Also, information is taken from the passport to avoid errors.
    • In line 4 the date when the child was born is written. All data is indicated in the following sequence: day, month, year. The date should be written in the same format as indicated in the title of the paragraph - separated by a dash.

    • In line 5 you will need to indicate the baby’s place of birth. The place of birth means the city. The data is also entered in Latin letters. Do not confuse English with Latin letters. All data is entered without translation. Example: Rostov-na-donu.
    • In column 6, enter the country where the baby was born. But if the application form is being filled out for an adult, then it is worth considering that if the applicant was born in a country that was previously part of the USSR, then he should indicate not the country, but the “USSR” union.
    • Point 7 indicates the child’s nationality at the time of filling out the form. There are two sub-clauses – current citizenship and citizenship at birth. And if the child’s citizenship at birth is different, then it is worth indicating this point.
    • In line 8 the gender of the baby is noted. Information is indicated by placing a cross in the already prepared marks. On visa forms, the female gender is indicated as “Female” and the male gender as “Male”.
    • In line 9 you should indicate your marital status. For children, select the “Single” option, which means “not married”.
    • Section 10 indicates the personal data of the baby’s parents: first names, last names and nationalities. If the address of registration or residence differs from the address of the baby, then it should also be indicated.
    • Line 11 indicates the TIN (if any). This column is not required to be filled out. It is worth noting that TINs are not assigned on the territory of the Russian Federation. Therefore, you can put a dash in this field.

    • Section 12 indicates the type of travel document on which the baby will travel. For children it is set o.
    • Column 13 records the travel document data: series and number.
    • In paragraph 14, you should write down the date of issue of the travel document.
    • Column 15 indicates the expiration date of the travel document.
    • Paragraph 16 provides detailed information regarding the authority that issued the travel document.
    • The address is entered in column 17. It is worth remembering that the address should also not be translated into another language. The street is written in Latin letters. Example: LENINA 45, KV. 28.

You should also write down your phone number and email address, if available, in this line.

Sample of filling out the second page of the visa application form

    • In line 18 it is worth answering whether the child has dual citizenship with another country or not.
    • In column 19 of the child’s application form, you should indicate “no profession.” This line usually indicates the position in which the applicant works.
    • On line 20 you will need to indicate the address of the educational institution: university, school or preschool. If the child is already a student at the time of filling out the form, then he must additionally indicate the telephone number of the educational institution.
    • In column 21, you should select one of the items that highlight the purpose of the trip.

Often, when filling out this column of the questionnaire, the child chooses tourism or visiting relatives.

    • Column 22 lists all EU countries where the baby plans to visit with his parents. It is worth indicating even transit countries.
    • The state of entry into the Schengen territory is entered in line 23. This means that you need to enter exactly the state where the child and his parents will cross the borders of the Schengen zone for the first time.
    • Line 24 indicates the number of crossings of Schengen borders. The desired visa is also indicated: single-entry, multiple-entry or double-entry.
    • Column 25 indicates the exact number of days spent in the territory of the EU countries.
    • In line 26 you should indicate all previously issued entry permits. You should provide information about visas in this order: Portugal, from 25-10-2007 to 25-01-2008. Spain, from 25-08-2009 to 15-11-2010. It is worth remembering that only visas issued over the last three years are indicated. If a person did not have open visas, then it is worth putting about.

    Fingerprinting procedure

    • In line 27 it is worth answering whether the child underwent a fingerprinting procedure. Let us remind you that from the age of 12, fingerprinting is mandatory. Young children may submit fingerprints only with parental permission.
    • Column 28 is filled in if a transit visa is required.
    • Point 29 indicates the planned date of entry into the Schengen territory.
    • Column 30 indicates the planned departure date.
    • In paragraph 31, you should indicate information about the person being invited or the address of the hotel complex where the child and his parents plan to stay during the trip.
    • Line 32 is not filled in. You need to put a dash in it.

Sample of filling out the third page of the visa application form

    • In paragraph 33 they indicate at whose expense the expenses associated with the trip will be incurred. This is one of the main questions when filling out a child’s questionnaire. The sample on our website shows the exact translation of all possible options.
    • On line 36, enter the city where the form was filled out. Example: Rostov-na-donu 10-07-2021.
    • Line 37 is marked.

The electronic form is no different from the paper form. But in electronic form, some items are written differently, namely in columns 4 and 14 the date is indicated in the format “year, month, day.”

    Electronic form of the questionnaire

It is possible to fill out the Schengen visa application online. This option is available at many visa centers and most consulates. When submitting your application online, there are some things to keep in mind that do not apply to the paper version.

Here are some simple tips to help you avoid mistakes:

    • Choose language. The online system will provide available options, and it is not a fact that there will be English. For example, when contacting a German mission, you can fill out the form in German and Russian. There are no other options, so choose the language that suits you best.
    • Complete each field. If you accidentally skip a line, sending the form will not be possible. The server blocks this feature, but at the same time notifies you of empty fields. Until you enter the information, the next step is not available.
    • Complete the form promptly. There is no need to rush, and there is no need to hesitate. If you spend a lot of time filling out a document, the server will update the data and delete the information - as a result, a couple of hours of work will go down the drain. Don’t waste your time, don’t do the same thing twice, each stage of filling out the form should end with saving the data.

It doesn’t end with sending the document, although the questionnaire is submitted for review after it is sent. Print the completed document. The form must have a bar code and a bar code - check. If everything is in order, certify the authenticity of the data with a signature, which is placed in several places. Submit the application form to the consulate in the package of documents.

You can fill out a Schengen application form electronically if you receive a Norwegian or Finnish visa, contact the Italian or Estonian embassy, or are traveling to Slovakia, Switzerland or Liechtenstein. This opportunity is also available to those who apply for a visa to Latvia and Lithuania, Greece and Germany.

    Detailed filling out the form

Points one to five: rewriting the data specified in the foreign passport.

Points No. 5 and No. 6: filling in the date of birth and country. If you were born during the USSR era, namely before 1991, you should write your citizenship at birth as USSR. If after – RUSSIA.

However, there are some exceptions to the general rules. So, to visit France you can indicate RUSSIA, despite being born in the USSR.

To visit the Czech Republic, those born before 1991 must select RUS as their country of birth and SUN as their state of citizenship at birth.

In Sweden, they look at the information about the country indicated in the foreign passport.
In paragraph No. 17, you must indicate the place of your actual residence. If necessary, you must provide a rental certificate if you are renting a home.

In paragraph No. 19 you need to indicate the profession that will appear in the certificate of employment. If the applicant is unemployed, UNEMPLOYED is written. If a pensioner – RETIRED. If the student is STUDENT.

In paragraph No. 20 you need to provide complete information about the employer and his details. Students enter information about their educational institution.

When filling out an application for a visa for a child, a dash is placed, as for pensioners.
In point No. 22 you need to indicate the country in which you will be staying for the main time of your trip. It is better if it corresponds to the country of the consulate in which the Schengen visa will be issued. When traveling across several states, the main one is the one in which you will stay the longest.

If their number is the same in each country of residence, the main state is taken to be the one through which you will enter the Schengen zone.

In paragraph No. 23, you provide information about the state through which you will make your first entry.

If you are planning to travel to Portugal, it is important to know that Germany is not allowed as a country of entry. You must indicate Portugal, even if you fly through Germany.

In paragraph No. 24 you need to enter the document multiplicity.

In point No. 25 you must enter information about the period of stay in the Schengen zone. If you are applying for a multiple visa, you must enter the entire amount for the entire period. For annual visas, you need to indicate 90 days.

In paragraph No. 26, you provide information about the duration of visas that were issued over the last three years. If it is impossible to indicate all the information in one column, you can indicate only the last one. Information about one visa will also be required when filling out the online application.

In points No. 29 and No. 30 you must write the dates of entry into and exit from the Schengen zone.

When filling out item No. 31, you must indicate the details of the hotel if it is your host. If there are several of them, you need to indicate one address, but all other details and reservations still need to be provided in the general package of documents.

Item No. 32 needs to be completed only by those whose purpose of visit is official.

In paragraph No. 33, the applicant indicates the person who will sponsor the trip. If we are talking about children, the names of the parents should be entered. If we are talking about the unemployed or pensioners - the name of the sponsor. If the trip will be sponsored by the inviting person, you must provide his/her details.

Point No. 36 is the place where the application form was filled out, but not the actual location, but the place where the applicant lives.

The last point No. 37 is the signature. If it is necessary to obtain a Schengen visa for a child, the parent must sign.

This point also has its own nuances. So, for example, if a child is over 15 but under 18 years old, the Czech Republic will ask the parent and him personally to sign the form.

For Schengen travel to Austria for a child under 14 years of age, the signatures of both parents will be required. For a child from 14 to 18 years old, the signature of the child himself is added to the parental signatures.

    How to enter information

The main rule for drawing up the form is that the applicant must write by hand, in legible handwriting, using only printed capital letters. Typewritten applications will also be accepted for consideration. A visa application can be obtained from the consulate of the country where the application will be submitted.

To avoid mistakes, carefully study how to correctly fill out the Schengen visa application form:

    1. You can simply copy your full name from your foreign passport. Date of birth is written with a hyphen.
    2. The place of birth must be indicated as it is indicated in the passport.
    3. In the marital status and gender column, you must check the required boxes.
    4. The section regarding the travel document requires the applicant to indicate the type of passport, the date and place of its issue, and the period when its validity expires.
    5. In the “address” column, you should indicate the coordinates at which the applicant actually resides, even if they differ from the place of permanent registration. You should also include your mobile phone number.
    6. Many people are interested in the question of what should be indicated if the applicant lives outside the Russian Federation. For this purpose, there is a special column in which you need to indicate the address in the Schengen visa application form where the applicant is permanently staying. In addition, it is also necessary to indicate the details of the document that makes the applicant’s legal residence in another country.
    7. Information about the profession and place of work is also important. Regarding the latter, it is important to indicate not only the name of the organization, but also its address and telephone number. Students in this section indicate information about the educational institution.
    8. In the “Purpose of visit” line, check the box you need. It is important that it truly corresponds to your true intentions.
    9. Pay attention to the sections in which you need to indicate the country of residence and the state of entry. In some cases they may not match. When traveling by car, for example, you will not get to Italy until you have passed through a number of other countries.
    10. The next few points will be devoted to such issues as the frequency of the requested stamp, the duration of stay in the zone, the date of entry and exit from it. If the applicant submits an application for a multiple visa for a period of one year or more, the duration of stay column indicates 90 days.
    11. Please note how to fill out an application for a Schengen visa if the visit is carried out by invitation: here it is important to indicate information about the inviting party - initials, residential address, telephone number.
    12. The most important issue is the financial issue, so pay attention to the section where you need to indicate the source of financing.

If you have relatives in Europe, this must also be reported.

When filling out the form by hand, do not neglect the rule regarding which pen to fill out the Schengen visa application form with. Typically, only black or blue ink is used for this. But it is better to give preference to the latter, since a number of countries accept applications filled out by them.

The document is completed by the personal signature of the applicant, with which he certifies that:

    • all information provided is true and accurate;
    • be sure to purchase insurance;
    • agrees to the use of his personal data within the framework of the Unified Visa System.

Please also pay attention to how to correctly sign the Schengen visa application form. The applicant's strokes must not go beyond the allotted space, otherwise the application form may be declared invalid. The signature must be the same as in the passport.
