Different types of visas to Cambodia
Applying for a visa to Cambodia is quite simple and often does not cause any complications, but there are certain nuances. Depending on the purpose of visiting the country, you must choose one of the existing types of visas.
Tourist
The most common visa for traveling to Cambodia. It is suitable for anyone who is planning a short trip to get acquainted with the culture and sights of the Kingdom, as well as for relaxation at resorts. A tourist visa is issued for a period of three months. Possibilities for re-entry are provided.

Transit visa
Transit travel through Cambodia is impossible without a special type of visa. A transit visa is issued in the same way as a tourist visa; it is necessary for everyone for whom the country is not the final destination on the route.
Phnom Penh International Airport is Cambodia's largest international commercial airport, located 7 km west of the city. You can get to the center either by bus or by taxi. The bus is cheap but runs every 45 minutes. A taxi is a more comfortable way and relatively cheap in this country - about 8-10 dollars for a 15-minute trip.
Business visa
If you are going to resolve business issues or plan to work there, you need to collect a package of documents for a work visa to Cambodia. It is issued for a period of 30 days to 12 months. The consular fee for processing the document is much higher, and depending on the length of stay in the country, the cost of a visa for Russians can reach $285.
Those wishing to open their own business in Cambodia must obtain a business visa.
Visitor visa
This type of visa means an invitation from Cambodian citizens. The visa is issued in the same way as a standard tourist visa. The period granted for staying on the territory of the state directly depends on the documents provided by the inviting party.
Study visa
If you are going to receive education in the Kingdom, take certain educational courses, etc., you will need to apply for a study visa to Cambodia. The length of stay in Cambodia will depend on the relevant documents provided by your educational institution. When you apply for a visa, tuition must already be paid.
The Cambodia University of Medical Sciences is located in the capital Phnom Penh. The educational institution was opened in 1946, functioned and developed until 1975, when the rule of the Khmer Rouge began in the country. In those years, the university was closed and abandoned, but resumed its work in 1980.
Recommendations for graphs
An example of a completed questionnaire can be found on the Internet. You can fill out the form on paper or electronically. The latter will need to be printed after filling out.
On paper, the application form must be completed in English only. It is allowed to fill out in Russian only if the citizen applied for a visa to the Cambodian Embassy in Moscow.
You should start filling out the paper form only when the citizen has a passport with him and knows the flight number on which to go to Cambodia. The application must be filled out by hand in strictly block letters.
Step-by-step instructions for filling out the questionnaire are as follows:
- In the first column you should indicate your last name.
- The second line is for entering your name and gender.
- The third column indicates the state in which the citizen was born (Russia).
- The fourth column requires entering the passport number and the position that the person holds at the place of work.
- In the fifth line you should indicate the date and place of issue of the passport.
- In the sixth column you should enter the city of departure and arrival, and the flight number.
- The seventh paragraph requires indicating your place of residence.
- In the eighth paragraph, you must indicate the address of the place where the applicant plans to live during the entire stay in Cambodia.
- The ninth line is reserved for information about children. There is no need to fill out a separate form for children.
- In the tenth line you need to indicate the purpose of the trip, as well as the expected period of stay in the country.
On the last page of the form you should enter the date of completion and sign.
In some cases, a certificate from your place of employment may be required to fill out employment data.
An application form for any type of visa (regardless of whether it is a tourist entry permit or a business visa) can be filled out electronically. All the same data should be entered into it as for the paper version.

- If he has reached 14 years of age, he must obtain a foreign passport;

A visa to Cambodia for Russians in 2021 who have not reached the age of 6 years is issued absolutely free of charge. The cost of obtaining a Cambodia visa for children over 6 years of age is exactly the same as for adults.
One of the popular entertainments in Cambodia is elephant riding. Elephants work here until they are 40-60 years old, then they go into so-called “retirement” - they are sent to a special reserve, where they are again accustomed to life in the jungle, among the same old people.

Visa application methods
There are three main ways to obtain a Cambodian visa for citizens of the Russian Federation. Everyone can choose what is convenient for them.
Applying for an e-visa to Cambodia
Applying for a Cambodia visa online is a modern and very convenient way. This visa is called an e-visa and will cost you $36. Payment is made via visa or mastercard. On the website you will need to fill out a questionnaire in English and attach a scanned color photo (passport size).
Your application will be reviewed within three days, after which you will receive a response to your email address. Print out several copies of the visa document (just in case), since you will probably have to present it when leaving Cambodia.
Entry with an e-visa is possible through:
- Phnom Penh International Airport;
- Siem Reap International Airport;
- border crossings in Vietnam and Thailand.
The validity of an e-visa to Cambodia for Russians is limited to three months, of which only 30 days can be spent on the territory of the state.
For those who want to apply for a visa in advance of their trip, it is possible to obtain it online. This method is a little more expensive than obtaining a permit at the airport, but it will save you time after the flight - you can immediately go to passport control, bypassing the queue for a visa upon arrival.
At the airport upon arrival or at land border points
A 30-day tourist visa can be easily obtained upon arrival in Cambodia. This can be done at Phnom Penh and Siem Reap airports. To do this, you need to have a valid foreign passport and a photograph measuring 4*6 centimeters. You must also upon arrival:
- Pay a one-time visa fee of $30.
- Fill out the migration form (the form is issued by customs officers).
If you wish, you can also take out health insurance. This is especially true if you are traveling with a child. If you do not have a photograph with you, you will have to pay a fine of $5. Typically, the processing time for a tourist visa at the border is about half an hour. Your passport must have at least two blank pages, since the Cambodian visa is pasted onto the entire page at once.
This is what a Cambodian visa looks like when received at the airport. Valid for 1 month and cannot be extended for a longer period.
At an embassy or consulate in the Russian Federation
The third option for obtaining a visa to Cambodia for Russians is to come to the consular section of the embassy, which is located in Moscow. That is, in this way you will obtain a visa in advance and ensure a smooth entry into the territory of the Kingdom. You need to prepare:
- visa application form;
- passport-sized photographs (taken no more than six months ago);
- international passport with a validity period of more than six months.
The price for a Cambodia visa is $30 and you will receive it within 2-3 days. Payment is made in rubles at the consular section.
Where to get a Singapore Migration Card
The document form is issued at the passport control counter and on the plane flying into the country. It is preferable to fill it on board the plane, since it is not entirely convenient in the bustle of the airport. In addition, if you mess up the form, the flight attendant will give you another one for free.
You can inform the Singapore authorities about your arrival 14 days before your trip by issuing an analogue of a migration card in electronic form on the official website for free. This will reduce the time it takes to clear passport control at the airport upon arrival.
The service is also available from the SG Arrival Card application. This method is permitted for all arriving foreigners, with the exception of work visa holders and those traveling on cruise ships.
This is what the migration card form looks like (with the fields translated into Russian):
Features of entry into the Kingdom
Travelers wishing to travel to Cambodia need to be prepared to face certain challenges. It should be remembered that there are often cases of fraud at the border - if you obtain a visa on arrival, you will almost certainly encounter extortion by visa officers. When crossing the Cambodian border by land, scammers have the most opportunities.
- Ignore people who offer to help you cross the border for a fee.
- If a border officer demands your medical card and a fine for not having it, don’t be fooled—it’s not required when crossing the border.
- Do not fall for the persuasion of drivers who will offer you a ride to the main office of the immigration service - you risk ending up with intermediaries who will charge you a hefty fee.
Remember that the price at all border points should not be different. If they ask you to pay extra, there is a scam behind it.
Having received your visa at the airport, you will then proceed to passport control, where your passport will be stamped with an entry stamp.

What are the rules for entering the UAE during the coronavirus pandemic?
New rules for entry into the United Arab Emirates were established after the UAE's borders, closed due to coronavirus, were reopened to tourists. These rules are summarized on the website of the Russian Embassy in the UAE.
In addition, you must have a return ticket
.
The number of flights from Russia to the UAE and the airlines that operate them are still limited. Currently, you can fly from Moscow to Dubai with direct flights from companies such as Aeroflot, Emirates, Flydubai. Of course, you can fly with transfers.
You can check the availability of air tickets to Dubai using the Aviasales search.
However, no matter which route or airline you take, the requirements for visiting the UAE are the same and must be followed.
PCR test for coronavirus for traveling to the UAE - where to do it?
Having a negative PCR test result for coronavirus is a prerequisite for entry into the UAE.
Without the test result, they simply do not board the plane (regardless of the country of departure and the airline). Requirements for the PCR test:
- Must be done no more than 72 hours in advance
before the departure time (note that the countdown starts from the moment the test is taken, and not from the receipt of the certificate);
— The results must be presented in English
(maybe in Arabic);
— The test must be carried out only by a certified laboratory
(here is a list of laboratories).
The cost of a PCR test varies everywhere - as a rule, from 1800 to 3500 rubles.
, but there is also 6000 rubles. - it all depends on the greed of the laboratory.
Test results must be presented in original, on paper.
.
The test may not be done:
— Children under 12 years old; — Citizens with “moderate to severe” disabilities; — UAE citizens (they take the test only upon arrival in Dubai).
Insurance with Covid-19 coverage - what kind is needed and where to get it?
There are only two requirements for travel insurance to enter the UAE: 1.
Coronavirus Coverage;
2.
Validity period: all days of stay in the UAE.
There is one caveat to the Covid-19 coverage requirement. Coronavirus assistance is provided by most insurance policies, but not all companies report this directly in the policy
.
Accordingly, it is advisable to choose insurance that specifically states the treatment of the virus in the policy - then there will be no questions or misunderstandings. Reliable and inexpensive options include Polis Oxygen
(sold only by
Polis812
).
Here's a snippet of the policy showing Covid-19
.
AlfaStrakhovanie
policy (sold on
Sravni.ru
,
Cherehapa
and
Polis812
).
Alpha also reports treatment for Covid-19.
ERV
(sold on
Polis812
and
Instore.travel
).
Here is information about coronavirus treatment.
You can find out prices and arrange insurance using the Polis812 widget
.
You can read about other options on the page about insurance for travel to the UAE
.
If you intend to visit the UAE on a package tour
, then your tour package will probably include insurance.
If you need a policy not only to fulfill the formal requirements for entry into Dubai, but also to receive assistance in case of an insured event, be sure to check who the assistance is
.
Very often, tour packages include the cheapest insurance
with poor assistance, deductible and a minimum of options.
For example, your tour package may include insurance Consent
with assistance from
AP Companies
(8th place in the ranking, many negative reviews).
This is one of the cheapest insurance (you can look at its price on Cherehapa
), which does not cover sunburn, provides assistance for chronic diseases only if there is a threat to life, and
coronavirus is insured for only $5,000
, which is unlikely to be enough for hospitalization.
Another option is an ERV
, where the best assistance
Euro-Center Holding
(1st place in the ranking) is replaced by a little-known company
LDM League of Defense - Medical Assistance Limited
.
Possible inclusion in a tour package for the UAE and insurance Full coverage
with the same LDM Liga of Defense and
a franchise
(?) to boot.
Other cheap policies may be included in the tour package.
We recommend taking out insurance with assistance for travel to the UAE, which ranks no lower than fifth
.
How to fill out a health questionnaire?
The health declaration for entry into the UAE is quite simple to complete. It is filled out in English. If you do not understand all the questions, then look at our example, where there is a Russian translation of all the questions.
You can click on the picture to open it in a larger size and print it to take with you. You can also download the declaration form and fill it out in advance.
In the form, you must provide the usual information about yourself (full name, passport number), flight number and seat, as well as provide the address and name of the hotel in the Emirates, plus two contact telephone numbers.
The most important thing is to answer five questions:
1.
Have you been diagnosed with Covid-19? If so, when exactly?
2.
In the last 14 days, have you had contact with people diagnosed with Covid-19?
3.
In the last 3 days, have you had symptoms such as fever, cough, sneezing or difficulty breathing?
4.
Do you have health insurance valid in the UAE?
5.
Have you visited any other country in the last 14 days? If yes, please indicate which one.
